ETHICS
Instructors: Steve Gibbs, Denise Haynes
Ethics are the deeply held convictions upon which we base our attitudes, choices and actions, all of which have consequences. Our ethics will ultimately define who we are as individuals and how others perceive us. There is value in learning to articulate our ethical stand on personal and social issues.
With awareness that life experience may alter our own ethical beliefs, there is wisdom in being open to listening to other’s ethical opinions to gain understanding of those around us, as well as challenging our own ideals and behavior.
DIVERSITY
Closed door class, held in safe and highly confidential setting. No one may enter once begun.
Instructors: Li Gibbs, Xavier Cañez
Experiences are dynamic teachers and even the most painful experiences have the ability to connect us to ourselves and to others in powerful and positive ways. Life experiences impact our attitudes and the choices we make.
There is value in sharing our hearts and experiences with others. Life experiences within any given group may vary greatly and when shared can provide insight, empathy and greater understanding. Being open to the experience of honest personal transparency and being available to provide a safe place for others to do the same is a profound tool for personal growth and empowerment.
There is wisdom in being willing to share our own human experience and giving others the opportunity to do the same.
TEAM BUILDING
Instructors: Jennifer Yamauchi, Lydia Caceres
•What qualities make a good team player?
•What qualities make an effective team leader?
•What makes a powerful team?
Collaborative situations can bring out the best and the worst in us. A collaborative effort can show us a lot about ourselves and about others. Team situations can illuminate our personal strengths and weaknesses, and those of the group as a whole. Team situations can inspire, encourage and challenge us and be conduits of creativity and innovation.
There is collective wisdom or co-intelligence that is greater than the sum of its parts.
